2012 Writing Competition

 

Topic: Forgiveness

Open Genre

Entry Deadline: March 13, 2012


Preparing Your Entry:

 

q  You must be a paid member of the Western Wisconsin Christian Writers’ Guild for the 2011-2012 season.

q  An official entry form must accompany your entry. One will be available when you turn in your manuscript.

q  Your entry must be original and unpublished, not accepted by any publisher at the time of submission, and not previously submitted to a WWCWG contest.

q  Entry must be typed and double-spaced on white 8 ½ x 11-inch paper.

q  Use publishing industry standard format for paragraphs, dialog, etc.

q  Your name must not appear on the entry. Use page number and piece name only.

q  Include six (6) copies of your manuscript.

q  Entries cannot exceed 1,500 words.

q  Be sure of your word count! Entries exceeding word limits will be disqualified. Type the exact word count on the first page of the manuscript.

q  Entries must be stapled or paper clipped.

q  You may enter up to two (2) pieces.

 

 

Judging and Notification:

 

q  The judges will read every entry.

q  All manuscripts are judged without the knowledge of the author’s identity.

q  Entries must be submitted by March 13, 2012 at 9:00 p.m.

q  All manuscripts will receive judges’ professional critiques and be returned to the author.

q  The top winner(s) will receive a cash prize. The number of prizes awarded depends on the number of entries received.

q  A certificate will be awarded at the May 2012 meeting when the winner(s) is/are announced.

q  In the event of a tie, we will issue multiple checks and certificates.

q  The decisions of the judges are final.

q  The following are not permitted to enter the contest: Members of the Board of Directors for WWCWG, people who are not members of the Guild, or members of the Guild whose dues are in arrears.
